Job Description

Creative Dining Services is looking for a Prep Cook at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. As a prep cook, this role works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner, and works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary. This role will mainly include prep duties, batch cooking and helping to prepare and set up a salad bar, as well as engaging with our guests to provide excellent customer service.

Schedule/Availability - part time or full time available, some rotating weekend availability is a plus.
Core Responsibilities:
Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of servicePrepare hot and cold food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appealUtilize safe food handling, storage and service techniques at all timesEngage with guests, providing service in a positive, friendly and helpful mannerMaintain production records and logs (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, temperatures, etc.)Maintain a clean and sanitized work areaRemoval of refuse as neededPutting away/Pulling stock as neededOther duties as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Minimum of 2 years cooking or foodservice experience preferredHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred but not requiredServSafe certification
