Responsibilities Prepare a variety of fresh sandwiches according to company recipes and customer preferences, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Operate meat slicers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to portion meats and cheeses accurately. Manage food handling procedures in compliance with food safety regulations to maintain hygiene standards. Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner, taking their orders accurately and upselling additional items to enhance their experience. Use POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments. Maintain cleanliness of the workspace by regularly sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment; ensure proper sanitation practices are followed at all times. Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring product freshness, and notifying management of low stock levels. Support team members during busy periods by bussing tables, managing queues, and providing excellent customer service throughout the shift. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or quick-service restaurant environments with a focus on sandwich making or deli work. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for retail transactions and cash register operations. Strong understanding of food safety management practices including proper handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety protocols. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods. Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members while maintaining a positive attitude. Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations. Experience operating kitchen equipment like meat slicers safely while adhering to sanitation standards. Knowledge of retail sales transactions, upselling techniques, and customer service best practices within the food industry or grocery store settings.
