Job Description

Shift:

Afternoons, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM CST. Some flexibility in scheduling may be available based on business needs, and overtime may be required as needed. This position is accountable for providing leadership and direction for the Electrode department. This position requires highly effective leadership, planning, coaching and well developed interpersonal skills that will motivate subordinates and enhance semi-autonomous teamwork. This position assures that sufficient, high quality green anodes are produced to satisfy the demands of the operation.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge & Education Recommendations:

An Associate s degree or more in a related field is preferred; at minimum, some formal education beyond high school. Previous experience working in a full-time or temporary assignment as a Technician is preferred; experience in a prebake technology aluminum reduction operation is preferred. Basic computer knowledge, skills, and abilities are necessary. The incumbent must have the ability to build and sustain good working relationships and work effectively in a team environment; be achievement motivated and have a high energy level; effective planning and organizational skills; and effective communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).

Roles and Responsibilities:

1 Learn, accept and live Century Aluminum s Safety Mission Statement 2 Collaborate with Potlines, Bake Furnace, Rodding and Green Mill to ensure consistent quality of product. 3 Develop, document, and update all Standard Work Practices (SWP s) 5 Maintain accurate daily records of production, quality and equipment repairs in order to promote good operations. Maintain hourly timekeeping on a daily basis. Vacation scheduling, daily production reports, weekly reports and monthly safety reporting, production and landfill reports. 6
