Job Description
Our front of house folks are the heart and soul of Lovebirds — they truly love donuts, coffee, and people. You will be responsible for providing an exceptional experience to all guests. You will answer questions, take orders, pack orders, and prepare an assortment of craft beverages. Food and beverage experience is required for this role. To be successful in this role, you will: Be kind, patient, helpful, and energetic above all else. Enjoy early mornings. (6:00am start time.) Be available 4-5 days a week (7-8 hours per shift). We're closed Tuesdays. Be available to work busy donut holiday weekends: Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. There may be others, depending on the calendar year. Be willing to work in Kittery and Portsmouth. It's important that we provide a consistent experience to our guests at both locations. Maintain a shining attendance record. We keep a small team so everyone can have the best opportunity for hours. As a result, unplanned absences can have a huge impact so they must be taken with care. We offer paid time off to all employees. Have at least one full year of experience as a barista or in food service. Be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time. Proactively maintain a clean and organized front counter and display space. Complete closing tasks like cleaning and dishes. Be friendly, confident, and even-keeled in all guest interactions. Take a great deal of pride in their your and strive to learn more and do better. Understand that each team member helps to elevate one another and inspire a great workplace. You must take direction well and be willing to offer support when needed. Be excited to join a growing business and have flexibility with unknowns and frequent changes. Be tech-savvy, ideally having experience with POS systems such as Clover, Toast, or Square. Other tasks as needed. Have a valid drivers license. Compensation is $19-24/hr, which includes tips. We offer paid time off, plus health and dental insurance.
