Deli Associate Reports to: Store manager

Position Overview:

The Skip's Cenex CStore/Deli Associate works closely with the Convenience Store Manager, the Deli staff, and other employees to ensure the success of the overall operation of the convenience store and deli. This person is a key staff member works with the Manager and team in providing guidance, support, and motivation. As with all staff, this person is a hands-on co-worker and role model.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Communicate with the Manager and staff regularly regarding inventory and operations.
• Act as a positive team member and work with staff to ensure tasks are completed.
• Provide excellent customer service and help ensure it is part of the culture.
• In time, help train new and existing employees.
• Open and close the store and deli when scheduled.
• Work with the Manager and other staff to determine inventory needs and potentially place appropriate orders.
• Support the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment.
• Help ensure the store and deli meet state health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills and potential to lead and motivate a staff successfully.
• Related experience and/or the ability to understand the technical aspects of the job.
• Patience to learn and eventually teach and train.
• Enjoy the challenge of multitasking.
• Safeserv certification is very helpful.
• Be the ideal team player, blending humility, passion for the work, and emotional intelligence.
• Be flexible to work between the hours of 6:30 am and 9:00 pm weekdays.

This position will primarily work evenings. Must be able to work weekend hours if needed.
