Deli Clerk Readfield Meats and Deli Bryan, TX Job Details Part-time | Full-time $13 - $15 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Bilingual Serving Food handling Food preparation Grocery store Full Job Description Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Deli Clerk and become a vital part of delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced grocery environment. In this role, you will prepare and serve fresh deli products, assist customers with their selections, and ensure the deli area remains clean, organized, and inviting. In this position you will also be slicing the customers orders on the slicer. We also offer sandwiches in the deli that you will prepare to order for the customers. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and satisfied. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail sales skills, showcase product knowledge, and contribute to a positive shopping experience for all. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting deli items, providing product demos when appropriate to enhance their experience Prepare, package, and display deli products according to quality standards and safety guidelines Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for cashiering and cash handling transactions Stock shelves, rotate products, and maintain proper merchandising to attract customer attention Upsell additional items by suggesting complementary products to increase sales opportunities Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including cutting stations and display cases Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, store policies, and specials using clear communication skills Supervise or assist with inventory management, including stocking and inventory counts when needed Conduct product demos or sampling sessions to promote new or featured items Handle phone inquiries professionally following proper phone etiquette Support team members with basic math calculations for transactions and retail math accuracy Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader customer base Demonstrated cashiering skills with proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures Basic math skills for accurate transactions and inventory management Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and product presentation is beneficial Ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining a lively and energetic attitude Join us in creating a vibrant shopping environment where customer satisfaction is our top priority!
