Manage customer orders and payments while maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and professionalism. Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure orders were prepared correctly, served promptly, and met customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers upon arrival and provided friendly, welcoming, and attentive service. Assisted customers with menu questions, food selections, pricing, ingredients, portion sizes, and available options. Accurately take dine-in, takeout, pickup, and other customer orders using the restaurant's point-of-sale (POS) system. Enter customized orders, special requests, substitutions, modifications, and dietary considerations accurately. Repeat orders back to customers when necessary to confirm accuracy and prevent mistakes. Process cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, mobile payments, and other accepted forms of payment. Operate and maintain the POS system while ensuring transactions were entered correctly. Count cash accurately, provided correct change, and maintain an organized and balanced cash drawer. Follow proper cash-handling procedures and reported discrepancies or transaction issues to management. Assist with opening and closing cashier stations, including preparing the register and completing end-of-shift responsibilities. Prepared and organized customer orders for dine-in, takeout, delivery, and pickup. Checked completed orders for accuracy, proper packaging, utensils, condiments, napkins, and other requested items before handing them to customers. Communicated clearly with kitchen staff regarding customer orders, modifications, allergies, special requests, and order corrections. Monitored order progress and communicated with kitchen and service staff to help ensure orders were completed in a timely manner. Assisted with resolving incorrect, missing, delayed, or incomplete orders while maintaining a professional and positive attitude. Responded to customer concerns and complaints respectfully and worked to find appropriate solutions within restaurant policies. Maintained a calm and professional demeanor during busy periods, long lines, high-volume service, and other stressful situations. Provided efficient service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Maintained a clean, organized, and presentable cashier station and front counter throughout each shift. Regularly cleaned and sanitized counters, registers, menus, tables, service areas, and other front-of-house surfaces as required.
