Role:

The Deli Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the deli department by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. This position involves preparing and presenting deli products, assisting customers with their selections, and supporting inventory management to keep the department well-stocked and organized. The Deli Assistant collaborates closely with team members to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards, contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to food safety regulations are essential to guarantee that all products meet company and health guidelines. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Basic math skills for handling transactions and measuring portions.

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a deli, food service, or retail environment.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, Will provide ServSafe certification.

Familiarity with deli equipment such as slicers and scales.

Customer service training or experience.

Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers by answering questions, making recommendations, and fulfilling deli orders accurately and efficiently.

Prepare, slice, and package deli meats, cheeses, and other products according to company standards and customer specifications.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli work area, including equipment, counters, and display cases, following all health and safety regulations.

Monitor inventory levels, restock products as needed, and assist with receiving and storing deliveries to ensure product freshness.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and support other departments as necessary.
