Job Description

Ranch Pizza is looking for our next Front of House rock star to help deliver a consistent, friendly, and high-qualityguest experiences! This role assists with guest service, order entry, food and beverage service, online ordering, cleaning, stocking, food prep, and overall restaurant flow. The FOH Counter Server helps represent Ranch PDX standards by maintaining a clean, welcoming, and efficient service environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide friendly, attentive, and consistent guest service while representing Ranch PDX standards, culture, and hospitality expectations.

Greet guests, present menus, answer questions about menu items, beverages, ingredients, preparation methods, specials, and restaurant services.

Take guest orders in person and over the phone, enter orders accurately into the POS system, and communicate orders effectively to kitchen staff.

Process guest payments while following proper cash handling, credit card, and company payment procedures.

Manage front-of-house order flow, including dine-in, to-go, phone orders, online ordering platforms, delivery drivers, prep times, wait times, tablets, and related service technology.

Serve beer, wine, and other beverages in accordance with company standards and applicable alcohol service requirements, including checking identification when required.

Maintain knowledge of beer and wine products, make appropriate guest recommendations, and assist with keg changes or alcohol stock rotation as needed.

Monitor the guest dining experience, respond promptly and professionally to guest needs or concerns, and help maintain a positive service environment.

Support food service and preparation needs, including preparing salads, cutting and garnishing pizzas, assisting with expo, stocking line items, and completing general food prep as assigned.

Follow portioning, food quality, product freshness, safe food-handling, sanitation, and stock rotation standards.

Maintain clean, stocked, and organized guest, service, and dining areas, including bussing tables, washing dishes/glassware/silverware, stocking supplies, and setting up stations or dining areas.

Complete assigned opening, mid-shift, closing, cleaning, restocking, service, station, and training checklists accurately and on time.

Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, tidying service stations, taking out trash, checking and cleaning bathrooms, and preparing the restaurant for the next shift.

Inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation areas, service areas, equipment, work surfaces, and guest areas to support safe, sanitary, and guest-ready conditions.

Coordinate with FOH and BOH team members to meet guest needs, support efficient service, and maintain smooth restaurant operations.

Fill in across stations as needed to support staffing needs, guest service standards, and efficient operations.

Attend required meetings, participate in training, complete required acknowledgments or documentation, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or ExperienceLess than high school education; or up to six (6) months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Abilityto write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one andsmall group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer and Software Skills:
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have or will need knowledge of: cash registers, POS terminals, POS software, credit card processing machines, Slack, Square, UberEats, DoorDash, Apple products (POS)

Tools and equipment used:

Commercial electric meat/cheese slicer, electric mixer, pizza ovens, electronic panel timers,knives, dishwashing machine, various office equipment - POS, laptop, printer, monitor.
Endurance:
Regularly lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Walk and stand for 8hrs outside required rest periods.
