If you possess a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for crafting exceptional beer, we invite you to help us on our brewing voyage. As a Cellar & Packaging Operator, you'll be instrumental in ensuring our brews are perfectly prepared for their journey from fermenter to the eager hands of our patrons. You'll be a key player behind the scenes, upholding the quality and integrity of every batch.
What You'll Be Doing:
Cellar Operations:
Execute precise cellar tasks including fermentation management, yeast handling, dry hopping, and fining. Monitor fermentation activity and make adjustments as needed to keep our brews on course. Maintain strict sanitation and sterilization protocols for tanks, hoses, and all brewing equipment, ensuring a clean vessel for every batch. Transfer beer between tanks, always prioritizing product quality and minimizing loss. Perform regular quality checks, taking samples and recording data accurately.
Packaging & Bottling/Canning:
Operate and maintain packaging equipment , including keg washers, fillers, and our bottling/canning line, with a steady hand. Prepare and organize all materials for packaging runs, ensuring we're always ready for the next tide of production. Perform quality control checks on packaged products, ensuring proper fill levels, seals, and labeling. Stack and organize finished goods in the cold storage area.
Brewery Maintenance & Support:
Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of the brewery facility and equipment, keeping our operations shipshape. Assist with raw material receiving and inventory management, ensuring our provisions are always accounted for. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report larger concerns to the Head Brewer. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, keeping all hands safe.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in a brewery production environment, particularly in cellar or packaging operations, is preferred, but we will train the right candidates. Strong understanding of brewery sanitation and safety practices. Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic brewery equipment. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Capable of working independently and as part of a close-knit crew. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds regularly and safely maneuver kegs. Comfortable working in a diverse environment that may include wet, hot, cold, and noisy conditions. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on production needs.
