Part-time Assistant Brewer MotorCity Hospitality Detroit, MI Job Details Part-time | Contract $16 - $20 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Moving Brewing Attention to detail Ability to follow instructions Food safety Full Job Description Part-Time Assistant Brewer Roar Brewing Company is looking for a motivated, dependable Part-Time Assistant Brewer to join our brewing team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is passionate about craft beer and interested in gaining practical experience in a brewery environment. The position is approximately 1-2 days (approx. 12 hours) per week, . We are open to discussing either W-2 employment or an independent-contractor arrangement, depending on the candidate. Responsibilities Assist the head brewer and brewing team with brewing operations Help with brewing, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, and other brewhouse tasks Assist with yeast management, fermentation, dry hopping, transfers, and tank cleaning Clean and sanitize brewing equipment, tanks, hoses, floors, and work areas Assist with kegging, packaging, and moving finished beer Preform keg-washing at least once a week Perform line cleaning twice a month Monitor and maintain brewing equipment using electronic system Count and report monthly inventory and barrel depletions Follow established recipes, procedures, safety practices, and sanitation standards Help with inventory management and brewery organization Perform general brewery maintenance and other tasks as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications Previous brewery, homebrewing, food-production, or related experience preferred, but not required Genuine interest in craft beer and a desire to learn Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment Ability to lift and move kegs, bags of grain, hoses, and other brewery materials Comfortable working around water, heat, cold, chemicals, and wet floors Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a small team Must be at least 21 years old
