Job Description

Our Pasta/Mozzarella Department is seeking an experienced Pasta/Mozzarella Production Manager for its busy operations! The Production Manager for our Pasta/Mozzarella division is responsible for making fresh Pasta and Mozzarella according to Uncle Giuseppe's authentic Italian recipes. This individual will utilize fresh mozzarella curd to heat, stretch by hand, and make house-made mozzarella. Additionally for pasta production, the Production Manager manages all aspects of the process: stretch by hand, create various molds and doughs to be turned into authentic house-made pasta.
This position engages all senses:
tastes, smells, feels, listens and observes all characteristics of each batch of pasta and mozzarella to maintain and elevate quality. Responsibilities Records daily the weight of ingredients used, batch sizes, and amounts transferred to other outlets Manages and supervises staff, with responsibilities in interviewing, training and scheduling Makes variations in time cycles and ingredients used as necessary for succeeding batches Cares for and handles products with careful attention to quality control and waste management Weighs, packages and labels pasta and mozzarella lab offerings Stocks display refrigerators neatly, accurately and in a timely manner Provides guest service and information on pasta- making and mozzarella-making process to guests Cleans workstation thoroughly following food safety best practices Ensures collateral supplies are in stock and being utilized properly in the lab Other duties as required or assigned Requirements A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in cheese/dairy department coupled with strong customer service experience Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell and recognize sales opportunities with guests Basic math skills are required Passion for pasta and cheese with the ability to work weekends and holidays Highly organized and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Self- motivated to succeed, meet deadlines and follow up on production of products Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language Strong attention to detail for accuracy in all facets of the position Join a team that values and rewards its employees. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
Pay:
$64,350.00 - $75,000.00 per year
