Job Description

Job Overview:
A general labor position in food manufacturing involves performing a variety of manual tasks on the production line, including loading and unloading materials onto machinery, sorting and inspecting products, packaging items, cleaning works areas and equipment, and maintaining sanitation standards withing a food processing facility, often requiring physical dexterity and adherence to strict hygiene guidelines.
Key responsibilities may include:
Loading and unloading materials: Feeding ingredients like raw materials onto conveyors or into processing machines, removing finished products from production lines.
Sorting and inspecting products:
Checking for quality defects, removing damaged or non-conforming items from the production line.
Packaging:
Placing products into containers, sealing packages, labeling products according to specifications.
Cleaning and sanitation:
Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and machinery by sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, following proper sanitation procedures.
Basic machine operation:
Assisting with basic operation of production machinery, including adjusting settings as needed under supervision.
Following safety protocols:
Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintaining production records:
Recording batch information, production quantities, and quality checks as required.
Required skills:
Physical ability: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
Attention to detail:
Ability to identify quality issues and ensure accuracy in product handling.
Basic math skills:
Understanding measurements and quantities for production tasks.
Teamwork:
Collaborating with other production workers to maintain production flow.
Adaptability:
Flexibility to perform various tasks depending on production needs.
