This role involves preparing green coffee, operating roasting equipment, monitoring roast profiles, maintaining quality standards, and keeping accurate production records. The ideal candidate is attentive, organized, and comfortable following established procedures in a production-focused coffee environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and organize green coffee beans for scheduled roasting Operate coffee roasting equipment according to established procedures Monitor roast temperature, timing, and batch progress Make routine adjustments to support consistent roast results Record roast profiles, batch details, and production information accurately Inspect roasted coffee for consistency and quality Assist with cooling, weighing, handling, and packaging roasted coffee Maintain clean and organized roasting and production areas Perform routine cleaning and care of roasting equipment Monitor coffee supplies and communicate inventory needs Follow food-safety, sanitation, equipment, and workplace procedures Communicate production updates or quality concerns with team members Assist with other coffee production duties as assigned Qualifications Previous coffee roasting, café, food production, or related experience is helpful Strong attention to detail and consistency Comfortable learning and following roasting procedures Good organizational and record-keeping skills Reliable, punctual, and responsible Able to follow equipment and workplace safety procedures Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Interest in coffee quality, roasting, and production is a plus Benefits On-the-job training and support Opportunities to develop coffee roasting and production skills Employee discounts or coffee perks may be available Supportive and team-oriented work environment Opportunities for professional development Additional benefits may vary by position and location About the Company Old City Coffee operates in a coffee-focused environment centered on quality coffee, thoughtful preparation, and dependable daily operations.
