Description Full- or Part-Time Position Milroy Farms is a working farm whose primary industry is the production of pure maple syrup, the making of maple by-products, and the retail sale of its syrup and other products. The sugar operation is a 14,000-tap operation with modern technology, including vacuum systems on more than three-quarters of our trees, a reverse osmosis machine, an oil-fired evaporator pan, and digital monitoring systems that track vacuum flow and tank levels. The farm's other operations include producing hay and boarding horses. We are currently seeking a full- or part-time employee who can be involved in the office, value-added product production, kitchen, shipping, and retail aspects of the business. Salary and benefits are negotiable. The candidate must be able to complete the manual and physical aspects of the job; have the social skills needed to interact with customers, clients, and vendors; be willing to work in a variety of environments; and be able to work independently after training. The position is primarily maple-related, with additional office and administrative responsibilities. Below is a more specific breakdown of how time is typically dedicated. We are ideally looking for someone who can work two to five days per week and one weekend every month or every other month. The schedule is flexible in both hours and days. A slightly heavier schedule may be needed for our four larger annual events: the State Farm Show, PA Maple Festival, Mountain Craft Days, and Springs Folk Festival.
