SUMMARY This position is responsible for supporting all brewing functions at Phantom Farms Brewing across two facilities: our brewery and cidery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning and sanitation:
Maintain a clean and safe production environment. Assist the Head Brewer with wort production as needed. This includes weighing malt and hops. Help with the organization, management, and storage of raw materials. Clean kegs. CIP tanks and equipment. Complete all cellar work with an eye toward low DO. Work on the packaging/canning lines as needed. Identify and report any mechanical issues. Operate a forklift safely. Perform other jobs in the brewery as needed. Assist other employees as necessary. Perform all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong communication skills with peers and the ability to work as a team member. Mechanical proficiency sufficient to perform routine preventative maintenance and manageable repairs. Understanding of business math and its application to brewing needs. Good organizational skills and thought processes. Ability to effectively manage one's own time. Maintain a high level of attention to detail. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Listen to and understand information and ideas as presented. Communicate information and ideas through speaking and writing so others will understand. Use common sense in all daily activities.
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS
Prior brewing or related experience preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Current forklift certification preferred. Position may require occasional weekend, early morning, and/or evening work, as well as potentially wet, warm, or cold working conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
In the unique and hands-on environment of beer brewing, employees encounter specific physical demands and working conditions, including: Manual labor: Tasks such as lifting bags of grain, moving heavy equipment, and transferring large volumes of liquid require physical strength and proper lifting techniques.
Standing for extended periods:
Employees are often required to stand for long periods while performing tasks, necessitating endurance and appropriate footwear.
Working at heights:
The orientation of our two-level cellar requires employees to work at heights, such as using a ladder to access second-level fermenters in our open-layout building.
SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Job Type:
Full-time, up to 40 hours per week
Pay:
$52,000-$58,000 per year, depending on relevant experience
