Head Brewer / Brewing Operations Leader/ Brewmaster A growing independent craft brewery in East Tennessee is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Head Brewer to lead brewing operations, quality, production planning, and continued development of its beer portfolio. The brewery operates a professional production facility supporting taproom and distribution sales and is entering its next stage of growth. We are looking for a technically strong brewer who combines exceptional brewing knowledge with leadership, organization and consistency. The Opportunity This is a leadership position for someone who wants ownership of the brewing operation not simply a production brewing role. The Head Brewer will oversee brewing and cellar operations, production scheduling, quality control, raw-material management, recipe development, process improvement, sanitation standards, and development of the brewing team. The brewery produces a diverse portfolio including Lagers, IPAs, Traditional European styles, Sours, Seasonal beers, and Innovative specialty releases. Ideal Candidate Candidates must have professional production-brewery experience and strong knowledge of: Brewhouse and cellar operations Fermentation management Yeast management CIP and sanitation Production scheduling Raw-material and inventory management Quality control and sensory evaluation Recipe formulation and scaling Packaging and draft-quality fundamentals (canning). Brewery safety and SOP development Team leadership and brewer development Experience with traditional lager techniques, modern hop-forward beer production, sours and process optimization, growing production environments is highly valued. We are particularly interested in candidates who believe excellent beer comes from disciplined processes, technical understanding and attention to detail .
