Our team is dedicated to providing roasted coffee to our sister company Houndstooth Coffee's cafes and all of our outside wholesale partners. We are looking for hard-working individuals who are knowledgeable about coffee and dedicated to providing great roasted coffee. Responsibilities Our team splits all production responsibilities to maintain balance and avoid burnout on particular tasks. Expected responsibilities include the following
- Production roasting 1-2 days per week on our 35kg Loring Roaster. This includes weighing out green coffee batches, loading them into the roaster, running appropriate coffee profile, moving coffee from roaster to buckets and moving buckets to bagging line.
- Labeling 5 pound and 12 ounce bags
- Operating bagging line with weigh fill & pedal powered heat sealer, filling bags accurately, and moving to roasted coffee rack
- Boxing orders for shipping / delivery, packing accurately and prioritizing based on shipping / delivery schedule
- Unloading deliveries, inventory, and green coffee shipments
- Cross training on computer tasks for printing bag labels, production schedule & shipping labels
- Driving delivery vehicle up to 2 days per week
- Cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Following safety, food safety and good manufacturing protocols Requirements
- Monday through Friday availability. This is a full time position with a 6:30a-3p schedule.
- Good communication, organization and math skills
- Able to take direction and work under time constraints
- Able to stay on task and balance priorities
- Able to perform physical requirements of the job
- Able to thrive within a small team environment
- Must be comfortable frequently lifting, pushing and pulling objects up to 70 pounds as well as lifting/assisting to lift green coffee bags of up to 150 pounds Experience
- Coffee industry experience preferred
- Experience working in a coffee roastery or food manufacturing environment a plus
- Valid Texas drivers license and clean driving record preferred Schedule Our roastery runs 2 shifts.
