Sonora Quest Laboratories seeks a Technical Supervisor in our Blood Bank within Laboratory Services. In this Healthcare & Medical role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, validate new methods, and provide technical guidance to staff. You will lead quality improvement initiatives, optimize workflows, and collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care. Responsibilities Oversee daily technical operations of the blood bank to ensure safe, accurate, and timely testing and transfusion services. Supervise, schedule, and mentor blood bank technologists and technicians, providing technical guidance and performance feedback. Serve as the primary technical resource for complex serologic workups, antibody identification, and crossmatch problem resolution. Maintain and update blood bank policies and standard operating procedures in compliance with CLIA, CAP, AABB, FDA, and state regulations. Plan and execute instrument and method validation, verification, calibration, and maintenance activities. Administer quality control and quality assurance programs, including monitoring of key performance indicators and corrective actions. Prepare for and participate in regulatory and accreditation inspections and audits, ensuring continuous readiness. Manage blood product and reagent inventory, coordinating ordering, storage, utilization monitoring, and outdate minimization. Lead or support process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, turnaround time, and patient safety. Coordinate staff training, onboarding, and ongoing competency assessments, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pathologists to support transfusion decisions and address clinical inquiries. Work with information technology and LIS teams to optimize blood bank information systems, workflows, and data integrity. Respond effectively to urgent and emergent situations, including massive transfusion protocols and critical antibody investigations.
