Public Area Supervisor (Full Time) (36920) Agua Caliente Palm Springs - Palm Springs, CA 92262 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Apply Description Job Description Summary Responsible for the on-going operations and supervision of the Environmental Services Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) Assist the EVS Manager as required. Supervise preparation of work schedules for all EVS shift. Creates schedules, daily and monthly rotation of sections and monitors time off requests. Monitors performance and attendance of staff and adherence to company policies and procedures, including all Tribal Ordinance and Regulations. Issues supplies and equipment as required. Performs inventory of supplies, receives and checks in deliveries and reports discrepancies to Manager. Submits requisitions for cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Perform duties of Attendant, when needed. Assists the EVS Manager with the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of EVS staff. Provide excellent guest service to both guest and internal clients. Schedules and trains the environmental services staff and insures that performance standards are met. Participates in dispute resolution for environmental services staff and refers disciplinary action to department manager. Leads the evaluation process for assigned staff and provides substantial input to the department manager about the performance of assigned staff. Supervisory Responsibilities Public Area Attendant Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the EVS Manager with training employees; planning, assisting and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Must follow chain of command. Access to Sensitive Areas and Information (ACCRS & SRC) As per the ACGC Access Matrix Signatory Ability HR forms Qualifications Required Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED 2 years related experience with a minimum of 1year supervisory experience or combination of education and experience Must be able to communicate in English Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner. Working Conditions/Physical Demands To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
