Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a positive dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service, as you will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements. You will also be responsible for overseeing any To-Go orders when they do occur. Responsibilities Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Be able to answer the phones and provide the necessary assistance when needed. Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize guest flow. In this specific setting there will be 2 areas of seating. You must be able to keep track of both areas and the respective customers because they will serve different dishes. Provide guests with menus and inform them of daily specials or promotions. Let them know their server will be right with them. Assist in managing the waitlist during busy periods, ensuring timely seating of guests. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area. Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Handle guest inquiries and concerns promptly, providing exceptional guest relations. Utilize a POS system for reservation management, To-Go orders, and placing orders as needed. Experience Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within the food service or hospitality industry. Strong guest relations skills with an emphasis on creating a positive dining experience. Excellent phone etiquette for handling reservations and guest inquiries. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both guests and team members. Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar systems is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
