We're looking for someone who brings positivity, attention to detail, and a commitment to outstanding service. The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. This position is responsible for managing guest flow, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring efficient communication between the front-of-house and kitchen staff. The Host/Hostess must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while handling guest inquiries, reservations, and any concerns that arise. By effectively managing wait times and seating logistics, the Host/Hostess contributes to the overall operational success and customer satisfaction of the establishment. Ultimately, this role is vital in fostering a hospitable environment that encourages repeat patronage and positive word-of-mouth recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong oral communication skills with the ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions clearly. Ability to lift and carry heavy weights safely as required by the role. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities in a customer-facing environment. Must have
AZ Food Handlers Certificate Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience specifically as a host or hostess in a busy restaurant setting.
Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival. Manage reservations and walk-in guest seating using the Point-Of-Sale system. Communicate effectively with guests to understand their needs and preferences. Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth table turnover and service flow. Assist guests with special requests and resolve any issues or complaints professionally. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and waiting area. Lift and carry items as needed to support service operations, adhering to safety guidelines. Provide clear and accurate information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies.
