The Old Pro, a beloved fixture of the Palo Alto community since 1964, is being revitalized in its most recent landmark location. The new establishment, simply named "The Pro," aims to honor the rich legacy of this historic watering hole while introducing a fresh and vibrant atmosphere. Located in Palo Alto's Ramona Street Architectural District, The Pro will continue the long tradition of serving the people of Palo Alto and celebrating the Bay Area's legendary local sports teams and athletes. Our mission is to preserve elements of the unique character of The Old Pro while creating a welcoming and dynamic gathering place for all. The Pro's revitalization will offer a casual, light lunch, a leisurely afternoon bar bite, an intimate date night, a celebratory family dinner, or a way to cheer on the home team with friends. Serving familiar dishes with an emphasis on classic cocktails delivered with on-point service by a team of restaurant veterans.

Job Description/Summary of Position:

The host is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly, charming manner and bidding farewell to departing guests. Communication between the host, management, kitchen, and floor staff is critical. The host is also responsible for managing the flow of guests in the dining room to maximize seating and ensure guest satisfaction and dining pleasure. We're looking for someone who sets the tone the moment guests walk through our doors.

As a Host, you are the first and last impression of our restaurant—welcoming guests, guiding their experience, and creating an atmosphere of hospitality. This role is ideal for someone who is trustworthy, great with people, and eager to grow. What You'll Do Greet every guest with warmth, and professionalism Manage reservations and waitlists with confidence and attention to detail Communicate clearly with servers and managers to ensure smooth seating flow Handle guest concerns calmly and respectfully Maintain an organized, welcoming host stand Who You Are Trustworthy - reliable, accountable, and consistent Good with people - friendly, approachable, and comfortable engaging with guests Willing to challenge yourself and step outside your comfort zone Able to stay calm, focused, and organized in a fast-paced environment A team player with a positive attitude Growth & Opportunity This role offers real room for growth within the restaurant.
