The Delta King Delta King is looking for a host to join the team!
Overview:
The restaurant host/hostess is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant. It is the job of the host/hostess to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess. The host/hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for takeout orders to be ready, it is the job of the host/hostess to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their wait times.
Duties:
- Monitoring the open table and making reservations on sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables.
- Estimating wait times for guests.
- Monitoring the guest waiting list and Ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting.
- Answering the telephone.
- Booking reservations of 8 or less without managers approval.
- Moving tables together to accommodate large parties.
- Memorize table numbers and station assignments.
- Be familiar with the dining room layout/floor plan.
- Know the maximum number each table/booth can accommodate.
- Greet Guests with a smile and get to know the guests.
- Promptly seat Guests
- Track open/available tables and booths
- Inform the Coordinator Host/Hostess of available tables by giving accurate table checks.
- Assist in bussing, setting up, and maintaining tables
- Set payment clipboard to the edge of the table for easy retrieval by server
- or selver Book
- NEVER seat a party without making sure the table and seats are clean and properly set-up.
Responsibilities:
- Come to work on time, ready to work and in the appropriate uniform. (Refer to uniform requirements.)
- Take pride in your appearance and the show quality of your work area.
- Check Open Table for reservations for your shift and communicate them.
- Notify the manager of any partics of more than six.
- Distribute reservations among all servers equally, informing them of all information necessary.
Example:
Birthdays, anniversaries, bill not to be taken to the table or any other unusual requests.
- See that the reservation signs are placed on the tables if necessary.
- Inquire with the kitchen what the daily specials are for the shift.
- Always answer the phone politely using a friendly tone and being informative
- Answer the phone with a fun spirited attitude. Put a smile in your voice it's contagious on the phone.
- Be aware of guests approaching the lobby while speaking on the phone. Never leave a guest standing without being acknowledged.
- The telephone must be answered on a maximum of three rings.
- Be knowledgeable in the history and concept of The Delta King.
- If a customer has any questions, it is your responsibility to answer them accurately. Therefore, know your product and price list.
- You must have complete knowledge of all food and beverage menus: The ingredients; the preparation; how items are served and with what; know your prices; know the daily specials.
- Except in emergency situations, no employees are permitted personal phone calls or have the use of the telephone at any time. NO Cell Phone use is permitted. You may not have them in your pockets, aprons, server stations, host podium, etc.
- You are not permitted to give out any personal information over the telephone.
Example:
Phone numbers, schedules to anyone except staff members.
- All messages are to be taken on the appropriate message pad, and not on a scrap piece of paper.
- The hostess is a very important part of Your Restaurant's experience. Always remember you are the first and the last person the customer sees. Therefore you are their first and last impression.
- It is of utmost importance that someone is present at the hostess station at all times.
- Never walk more than three paces in front of the guest. Never walk too fast. Be engaging and make small talk en route to the table. Pull out the chairs, ladies first and then other guests you can accommodate.
- Once the guests are seated, hand them the menu in their hand and tell them who their server will be. Then tell them to enjoy their evening at Delta King.
- On departure of a guest, you must make contact with them. Ask them how their evening and meal were and let them know we will see them soon and you appreciate them choosing us.
- If there are any complaints, retrieve a manager immediately.
- Do a little extra whenever possible, be a team player, it is by all a team.
- Be diligent and make sure you have created a sense of belonging, executed fun heartfelt hospitality.
- Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking with some standing at times
- Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances
- Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs
- Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs Must have open availability Must have wonderful and inviting personality Must have reliable transportation.
Pay:
$16.90 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
