Position Summary:
Nobu San Diego a world-renowned Japanese Restaurant is hiring for a host/hostess position. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our successful team. We are a fast-paced restaurant, all host/hostesses must be able to follow direction and maintain a welcoming personality. He or she must be committed to our guests, reliable to his or her co-workers and be self-motivated, organized, and detailed individual. Effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, speech and behavior are all required for this position The ideal candidate for this position has at least one year's minimum experience in a upscale restaurant or relevant qualification in the hospitality industry. Good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Manages guest reservations and greets and seats guests on arrival Assigns work tasks and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service Manages supplies and ensures orderly work areas Maintains complete knowledge of the restaurant features, cuisine, general information and hours of operations Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company standards, policies and procedures Ensures Open Table is managed in a professional manner Reviews all reservations and communicates all special requests to managers, servers and kitchen to ensure prompt and courteous service The job will require:
  • Excellent communication and phone skills
  • 1+ years of experience in hospitality industry
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and all holidays.
  • Mostly night shifts (4:30-close). and occasional lunch openings for large conventions such as Comic-con.
  • Typically, 2-5 shifts a week
  • Open Table experience a plus
  • Plenty of room for growth within the company You must be: Able to stand for long periods of time (8+ hours) Able to walk up and down stairs Able to carry up to ~50lbs Able to push/pull/open doors Able to bend, squat and lean down Nobu is an Equal Opportunity Employer This is NOT a tipped position.
