Our front-of-house team brings this vision to life, delivering a warm, polished, and attentive experience from a member's first hello to their last goodbye across dining, private gatherings, and member programming. Position Summary The Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for members and their guests, setting the tone for the VBC experience. Working closely with front-of-house leadership, this role manages reservations across dining, private gatherings, and member programming, while keeping the club's public spaces polished, organized, and welcoming at all times. Key Responsibilities Greet members and guests warmly upon arrival, and thank them personally as they depart. Manage reservations, tours, and seating arrangements across dining service, private gatherings, and member programming (e.g., themed evenings, member socials). Respond to inquiries with accurate, professional information about the club and upcoming programming. Communicate proactively with servers, kitchen, and management to keep service flowing smoothly. Monitor the club and lobby to anticipate member needs and resolve concerns promptly and calmly, escalating to management when appropriate. Support move-in and move-out logistics for private gatherings, coordinating with the events and AV teams as needed. Speak knowledgeably about upcoming programming so members and guests feel invited to participate. Cleanliness & Facility Standards Keep the club tidy and free of clutter throughout each shift. Maintain menus, stanchions, and front-of-house materials so they are clean, current, and presentable. Do a regular walk of public-facing spaces to catch and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues. Flag any facility or upkeep concerns to management right away. Assist in resetting front-of-house areas between services and gatherings. Qualifications Previous experience in hospitality or customer service required; private club or fine dining experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm, professional presence under pressure. Comfort de-escalating minor member concerns with poise, and knowing when to bring in management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with reservation and POS systems is a plus. A warm, outgoing personality with genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and member engagement. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and select private gatherings. Working Conditions Extended periods of standing and walking during service. Member-facing environment requiring consistent poise and professionalism. Wednesday-Saturday, with flexibility for private events Compensation & Benefits $25.00/hour.
