As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host plays an important role in setting the tone for the entire dining experience. This position requires someone who is friendly, polished, patient, and attentive, with a genuine passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate is professional under pressure, highly aware of guest needs, and able to support smooth restaurant flow while creating a welcoming and refined atmosphere. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a team-oriented attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow. At The Huntley, we value professionalism, accountability, growth, loyalty, and pride in the guest experience. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival. Create a welcoming first impression and help set the tone for the guest experience. Manage the host stand and keep it clean, organized, and properly stocked. Answer phone calls promptly, politely, and professionally. Take and manage reservations accurately. Inform guests when their table is ready and escort them to the dining room, lounge, or bar area as needed. Seat guests promptly and thoughtfully while maintaining proper table rotation. Assist guests with chairs and seating when appropriate. Monitor the dining room, lounge, and bar areas to identify available tables and support smooth service flow. Communicate with servers, bussers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure guests are seated efficiently. Help ensure tables are cleaned, reset, and ready for incoming guests in a timely manner. Assist with transferring bar tabs or coordinating guest movement from the bar or lounge to the dining room when needed. Carry guests' drinks from the bar area to their seats or tables when appropriate. Respond to guest questions, concerns, or complaints with patience and professionalism. Escalate guest concerns to management when necessary. Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned. Assist teammates with service needs and side work when requested. Maintain awareness of the overall guest experience, restaurant pace, and room flow throughout service. Complete additional tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, polished, and professional demeanor. Ability to stay calm, organized, and composed in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and guest awareness. Patient and service-oriented approach when interacting with guests. Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist wherever needed. Reliable, punctual, and committed to high service standards. Willingness to learn and grow within the restaurant and hotel environment. Physical Requirements This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, moving comfortably through a busy restaurant environment, occasionally bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying items, and communicating clearly with guests and team members throughout service.
