About Us:
The Gathering Table is a refined dining destination dedicated to exceptional hospitality, elevated cuisine, and memorable guest experiences. We feature French/Asian fusion led by Chef/Owner Budi Kazali. We are seeking polished, professional servers who are passionate about hospitality and thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.
Position Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for our guests and plays a vital role in creating an exceptional fine dining experience. This position is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating, coordinating table assignments, and maintaining a smooth and professional flow throughout the dining room. The ideal candidate is polished, personable, highly organized, and able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations are essential.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Warmly greet and acknowledge every guest upon arrival and departure. Create a welcoming, professional, and memorable first impression. Manage reservations, walk-ins, wait lists, and special requests accurately. Maintain an organized and efficient seating rotation in coordination with the manager on duty and service team. Escort guests to their tables and present menus in a polished and professional manner. Communicate relevant guest information, allergies, celebrations, VIPs, and special accommodations to the appropriate members of the service team. Monitor dining room activity and table availability to maintain an efficient flow of service. Coordinate closely with servers, bussers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally. Assist guests with questions regarding menus, reservations, restaurant policies, and special events. Maintain accurate reservation records and guest notes using OpenTable. Monitor the condition and presentation of the host stand, entryway, and surrounding areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand throughout the shift. Assist with menu presentation, table checks, and other front-of-house duties as directed by management. Handle guest concerns with courtesy and professionalism and involve management when appropriate. Maintain knowledge of restaurant menus, daily specials, events, policies, and service standards. Assist in maintaining an appropriate pace of seating to support both guest satisfaction and service efficiency. Follow all restaurant policies, procedures, sanitation requirements, and safety standards. Perform opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned. The Host is expected to consistently: Provide gracious, attentive, and personalized hospitality. Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and confident demeanor. Anticipate guest needs whenever possible. Demonstrate discretion when interacting with VIPs and high-profile guests. Treat every guest with courtesy, respect, and genuine hospitality. Protect the ambiance and standards expected of a fine dining establishment.
Qualifications:
Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Fine dining or upscale restaurant experience is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to remain composed under pressure. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Proficiency with OpenTable and Toast POS a plus. Knowledge of food, wine, and fine dining service is advantageous. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to move efficiently throughout the dining room and restaurant. Ability to lift and carry menus, supplies, and other items as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods. Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.

From $16.90 per hour Expected hours: 12.0 - 24.0 per week
