Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists with leading and instructing a variety of activities such as swimming, games and sports Inspects program facility and equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment for patrons Communicates with citizens and responds to their inquiries and concerns Ensures safety practices. Administers First Aid and performs CPR if necessary Greets and interacts with parents and guests Shops for and purchases supplies, refreshments and equipment for birthday parties Sets up birthday party room prior to parties. Ensures directional signs are posted so guests can find the room Cleans room after birthday party
Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
Experience in customer service preferred Licenses and/or
Certifications Required:
CPR and First Aid Certifications are required (which can be obtained at the Recreation Center) or ability to attain within 30 days of hire. A valid Colorado driver's license is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skill in administering First Aid and CPR Ability to physically access stores and to shop for supplies and refreshments Skill in caring for children and responding to their needs Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with established Town policies and procedures Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and coworkers
Physical Demands:
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens
Work Environment:
Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment

This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment.
