Mountain Recreation is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Birthday Party Host at the Edwards Field House to help create fun and memorable experiences for kids and families. This role is responsible for preparing party spaces, welcoming guests, leading activities, assisting families throughout their celebration, and helping with setup and cleanup. Primarily Saturdays and Sundays. Work schedules are variable and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hours based on the operational needs of the facility.Supervision Required:
Reports to the Edwards Field House Facility Coordinator and Facility Supervisor.Supervision Exercised:
None Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Duties are performed indoors in an active recreation facility and require sustained focus and attention to participant safety and program activities. Typical physical activities include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, and pushing or pulling equipment and supplies. The position involves frequent interaction with children, families, and patrons. Job-related stress may include managing groups of children, interacting with challenging participants or patrons, exposure to illness, noise and crowds, and periods of sustained activity. $16.28 - $19.33/hour DOE; staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.Benefits:

General Statement of Duties:
Creates safe, welcoming, and memorable birthday party experiences for children and families at the Edwards Field House. Leads age-appropriate activities, games, and entertainment while supporting party setup, guest needs, safety, and cleanup.Examples of Duties:
Greet party guests and provide friendly, positive, and enthusiastic customer service. Prepare and decorate designated party areas, including setting up tables, decorations, party supplies, food, beverages, and other requested items. Assist families and guests with serving food, distributing party favors, and other party-related needs. Lead fun, creative, and age-appropriate games, activities, and entertainment for children. Actively monitor children and party areas to promote a safe and enjoyable environment. Maintain awareness and accountability of party participants while activities are taking place. Keep party areas clean, organized, and free of hazards throughout the event; assist with cleanup and resetting spaces following parties. Understand and communicate birthday party policies, procedures, and facility expectations to guests. Provide guests with general information regarding facility operations, programs, and services. Monitor facility and equipment conditions and promptly report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, incidents, or other concerns to a supervisor. Respond appropriately to incidents and emergency situations and provide first aid within the scope of training when needed. Follow Mountain Recreation safety procedures, policies, and established facility practices. Perform other duties as assigned. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________Requirements:
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable knowledge of: General knowledge of child development, age-appropriate activities, games, and recreational activities for children.Skills and abilities:
Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide friendly and responsive customer service to children, families, and patrons. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to engage children and lead fun, creative, and age-appropriate activities. Ability to maintain awareness of participant safety and respond appropriately to changing situations. Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Ability to remain organized and attentive to detail while working in a busy, fast-paced recreation environment. Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, dependability, and a positive attitude.Requirements:
Education and experience Must be at least 15 years of age; AND Currently attending high school or have a high school diploma or equivalent; AND Previous volunteer, work, or other relevant experience working with children is preferred; OR Any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred. Certifications May require possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.FORWARD TOGETHER
