Job Description
Summary Responsible for greeting customers as they enter the restaurant. Takes and confirms reservations and shows customers to their table. They may also support other staff members by assisting with bussing or serving duties, provides exceptional customer service with a pleasant demeanor. Provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers. Provide a positive first impression to guests as they enter the establishment and will be able to answer initial inquiries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports Downtown Blues' mission, vision and values Greeting guest as they enter and putting them on a wait list as necessary Quoting correct wait times and managing wait list Seating guests at tables and providing menus and silverware for the party Assigning guest to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of tables/covers Engaging with guest to ensure they're happy with food and service. Answering phone calls and answering questions as needed Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude to ensure customer satisfaction Knowledge of the food, drink, and specials menu Collaborate and communicate with managers, servers, bussers, runners, bartenders and kitchen staff Maintain a clean and organized host stand Provide efficient and friendly service to all customers Preparedness for shift (timely arrival, required uniform, etc.) Assisting with other jobs in the restaurant as needed Completion of pre, during and post shift side work Attend any scheduled employee meetings
