Full Job Description About Us:

Common Room is a modern American, upscale casual restaurant focused on high-quality food, strong service culture, and a polished guest experience. We're building a team of professionals who take pride in consistency, execution, and teamwork.

Position Overview:

The Hostess is responsible for managing reservations, coordinating seating flow, and maintaining clear communication with the service team to optimize the guest experience and dining room efficiency. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced setting while delivering elevated, guest-focused service.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests promptly with a warm, courteous, and professional demeanor Manage reservations using booking systems Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest experience Escort guests to tables and present menus when appropriate Maintain an organized waitlist and provide accurate wait time estimates Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area Assist with phone calls, and other front of house duties as needed

Qualifications:

Previous hosting or customer service experience in an upscale or fine dining environment preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to remain calm and composed in a fastpaced environment Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays)
