We're looking for a poised, guest-first Host/Hostess to be the face of our door—and the air-traffic controller for both dine-in and takeout. Job Summary You'll create an excellent first impression, manage reservations and walk-ins, coordinate table turns, and support to-go/delivery flow. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and communicates clearly with guests, servers, kitchen, and delivery partners. Responsibilities Greet every guest with warmth; manage seating, waitlist, and quote accurate wait times. Manage reservations and guest notes using Clover/Micros (or similar); OpenTable/Resy experience a plus. Maintain an organized host stand; monitor floor plan, pacing, and table status to optimize turns. Communicate with servers, bar, and kitchen to ensure smooth service and special requests (allergies, large parties, celebrations). Present menus, highlight daily features, and answer basic menu questions (dietary flags, halal/vegetarian options). Uphold ambiance standards (lighting, music levels, door checks); keep entry, patio, and restrooms tidy. Professionally handle guest inquiries, feedback, and service recovery; escalate when needed. Takeout & Delivery (To-Go) Own the to-go queue: confirm orders, timing, and accuracy with the kitchen/expo. Verify modifiers/allergens, pack orders to spec (labels, sauces, utensils), and apply tamper-evident seals. Stage orders by pickup time; coordinate curbside handoff when applicable. Check in delivery drivers (e.g., Uber Eats/DoorDash) and guests picking up; confirm order name/number before release. Update guests proactively on ETAs or substitutions; process payments and receipts for phone/in-person to-go orders. Requirements 6+ months host/hostess or FOH experience preferred (upscale casual a plus). Confident, gracious communicator with strong phone etiquette and guest-recovery instincts. Comfortable with POS/reservation tools (Clover/Micros; OpenTable/Resy a plus). Organized, punctual, and steady in a fast pace; strong attention to detail. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays). Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
