Job Summary If you are in love with the radio industry and willing to plant yourself in the Midwest, contact us. KHBT 97.7, Humboldt, IA, is looking for a PD/Afternoon Host with at least two years of on-air experience. Quality production a must. Programming background preferred, but not necessary. We are a small market station and try to be our best every day. Locally owned and operated, decisions are ours. Small, promotional minded staff caring for our listeners and advertisers. Responsibilities Host lively and engaging afternoon radio shows, delivering compelling stories, interviews, music segments, and listener interactions. Develop creative content ideas aligned with station branding and audience interests, ensuring fresh and relevant programming. Manage all aspects of show production, including scripting, audio editing, post-production, and integrating multimedia elements such as videos or social media content. Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging social media campaigns across various platforms to promote upcoming shows and station events. Oversee project management tasks related to content creation schedules, live broadcasts, special events, and community outreach initiatives. Requirements Proven experience in radio hosting and media content creation with strong storytelling abilities. Excellent communication skills. Strong project management skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines. Knowledge of social media platforms management including content creation strategies for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or TikTok. Technical writing skills for creating clear scripts and show notes; journalism background is advantageous. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the voice of our station.
