Job Description
Job Description - Restaurant Host/HostessPosition Overview The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role is responsible for providing a warm welcome, managing reservations and seating, and ensuring smooth guest flow throughout the restaurant. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, and organized, with excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival. Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant's booking system. Escort guests to their tables and present menus. Maintain an organized and clean host/hostess stand and entrance area. Monitor dining areas to anticipate guest needs and seat rotation. Communicate with servers and management to ensure efficient service and balanced table assignments. Answer phones, take reservations, and provide accurate wait time estimates. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism. Assist with opening and closing duties as needed. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a similar role preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to remain calm and friendly under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to walk, bend, and carry light items such as menus or tableware.
