Job Description

Summary:
Greeting and seating the guests upon arrival.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Assigns service stations to all servers and bussers. 2. Informs servers of menu changes and daily specials. 3. Coordinates the operation of the dining room during meal service. 4. Adjusts patron seating to flow to balance customers among the various service stations. 5. Graciously greets and seats the guest upon arrival 6. Provides menu to the guest. 7. Manages special seating request of guest consistent with table availability. 8. Relays messages to servers and bussers as appropriate. 9. Assists with the duties of servers and bussers as needed. 10. Checks table setting for proper presentation and completeness, and checks service tray station for adequacy of supplies used for all refill or replacement purposes. 11. Be present at the host stations At All Times. 12. Make sure that the lights are creating the proper ambiance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 13. Smile and greet customers in a genuine manner as well as make small talk. 14. Manage the server seating chart. 15. Monitor the floor. 16. Stock drop envelopes, kid's menus and crayons 17. Wipe off all menus and check presenters 18. Be sure that the servers and bussers cleanup is done.
Additional Responsibilities:
All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
1. Ability to stand and walk for periods of up to four hours in length. 2. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. 3. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guest and other employees. 4. Some experience in food service is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
High noise levels and busy at times.
