Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Host to join our team at Pomeroy in Winnetka.
Concept overview:
Pomeroy is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept located in the heart of Winnetka that draws inspiration from the cafés and brasseries of Paris. The restaurant serves timeless French dishes including onion soup, escargot, steak frites, and fresh seafood alongside a thoughtful wine list and classic cocktails. The dining room reflects the elegance and warmth of a traditional Parisian bistro, creating a welcoming space where guests can gather for long meals, celebrations, or casual drinks at the bar. Pomeroy brings the flavors and atmosphere of a classic French neighborhood restaurant to Chicago's North Shore.
Job Summary:
The Host role is pivotal in creating a positive first impression for our guests. The ideal candidate will be pleasant, detail-oriented, and consistently professional, possessing strong hospitality instincts and a genuine drive to exceed guest expectations. Success in this role requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicate effectively, and contribute to smooth service operations and the delivery of high-quality service
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Create and maintain a strong connection to the guests and community. Exude warmth and hospitality in all interactions. Drive sales and covers through acute management of reservation software Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and build relationships with guests while encouraging regulars. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members. Serve guests as part of a team by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both front and back of the house. Ability to learn the menu and and comfortably guide the guest Passion to learn and participate in daily food and beverage training. Proficiency in Restaurant reservation systems Ability to maintain a clean working environment. Must pass general information and food and beverage quizzes. May perform other duties as assigned. ServSafe Food Handler Certified. Night and weekend availability is required.
