Job Description
Host Responsibilities Greet every guest promptly with a warm and friendly attitude. Manage the waitlist and seating rotation efficiently. Answer incoming phone calls professionally. Assist guests with reservations and wait times. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand. Thank every guest as they leave and invite them back. Food Runner Responsibilities Deliver food quickly and accurately to the correct table. Verify every plate before leaving the kitchen to ensure accuracy. If food is not served at the proper temperature or appears incorrect, immediately return it to the kitchen. Clearly announce dishes when delivering food. Assist servers by pre-bussing tables whenever possible. Refill sauces, utensils, and guest requests when needed. Takeout Responsibilities Accurately enter guest orders into the POS. Verify every item, modification, sauce, utensil, and special request before sealing the bag. Use a marker to check off every item while packing orders. Ensure all takeout orders are complete before handing them to the guest or delivery driver. Maintain communication with the kitchen regarding order timing. Handle guest concerns professionally and notify management when necessary. Guest Service Provide friendly, professional, and attentive hospitality at all times. Maintain a positive attitude during busy periods. Anticipate guest needs before they ask. Represent Jimoto professionally in person and over the phone. Cleanliness & Organization Keep the host stand, takeout station, dining room, and waiting area clean and organized. Restock menus, utensils, napkins, to-go supplies, sauces, and condiments throughout the shift. Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned. Maintain clean floors, windows, and guest-facing areas. Teamwork Assist servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and managers whenever needed. Help run food, bus tables, answer phones, or assist with takeout during busy periods. Communicate clearly and respectfully with all team members. Be flexible and willing to perform any assigned front-of-house duties. Performance Expectations A successful Host / Food Runner / Takeout Associate will: Greet every guest promptly with a smile. Deliver accurate food and takeout orders with minimal mistakes. Ensure all hot food is served hot. Maintain fast ticket times without sacrificing quality. Keep the front of the restaurant clean and organized. Demonstrate urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail. Take ownership of mistakes and immediately correct them. Consistently provide exceptional hospitality. Qualifications Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer and POS knowledge preferred. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for long periods. Lift and carry food trays, takeout bags, and supplies up to 40 pounds.
