Job Description

Open Position Full Time Host / FOH Support Primary responsibility is to work with our Front of House team to deliver excellent hospitality to our guests in our small, 35-seat restaurant. Support tasks include pre-bussing, delivering food & beverages, bussing and resetting tables. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, answering phone calls and managing reservations using Open Table. Keen observation, awareness & anticipation of needs are required of this role, as is an eagerness to learn about the hospitality industry. Preference given to applicants who hold or are willing to obtain an alcohol server's permit. In addition to the hourly rate, this position earns a portion of our tip pool. Base Rate + Tip Share averages to $20+ per hour. Shifts are typically from 3pm until 9:30/10pm (later if staying for post-shift meal/drink/debrief), and this position is for Wednesday-Saturday nights. Working one or two Sundays, Mondays and/or Tuesdays (Special Events) per month is also required. The Bistro takes two 2-week breaks annually (Winter Break is in January and Summer Break is in June/July). For each 2 week break, one week is PTO and the other is unpaid vacation. We are closed the weeks of Thanksgiving & Christmas, and employees also earn an annual bonus. We are open on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and New Year's Eve. About Us

  • Chef Samir & Rachel Mohammad moved from Denver to Noblesville in Jan 2020 to open the Bistro and have over 33 years combined restaurant experience.
  • Our restaurant has been included in Indianapolis Monthly's 25 Best Restaurants every year since 2022; OpenTable's Top 100 Restaurants in 2023 and Chef Samir was named a semi-finalist for the James Beard Award for Best Chef

  • We source locally as much as practical, working closely with Full Hand Farm, Harker Family Orchard and Teter Organic Farm.
  • Our menu changes monthly, based on seasonality of ingredients, and features food from an array of cultures & cuisines. The dishes can be described as globally inspired comfort food that is rustic yet elegant.
  • Our bar program mirrors our philosophy on food and features scratch-made & seasonal ingredients, strives for low/zero waste and highlights products from small & local producers.

We work hard and take our professions seriously. We are seeking to add to our small, tight-knit staff comprised of individuals who passionately pursue genuine hospitality, who eagerly work well with a team & who dearly love food. Prior experience is not as important as passion & eagerness to learn. All team members will be respected and valued, compensated appropriately, and may be cross-trained. Owners are hands-on, working alongside our team every night of service. Expectations At the Bistro, all team members must maintain a neat appearance, respect all colleagues and guests, and assert professional conduct. Cross-training is encouraged in order to expand knowledge of food and service. This is not the ideal position for someone seeking temporary employment. We ask that applicants be willing to commit to the Bistro for a minimum of 1 year.
