As the first point of contact during daytime hours, you will manage reservations, greet guests, and ensure smooth seating and guest flow. Duties Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional guest service. Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization while maintaining a positive guest experience. Answer phone inquiries with clear, courteous phone etiquette, assisting with reservation bookings and general questions. Maintain organized guest lists and reservation logs, ensuring accuracy and timely updates. Support the front-of-house team by communicating effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow. Uphold food safety standards by adhering to proper sanitation and hygiene protocols during guest interactions. Requirements Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly, professional demeanor. Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous. Basic math skills for handling reservations, seating counts, and managing waitlists accurately. Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being. Experience with POS systems, including Aloha POS or Micros POS, is a plus. Ability to handle phone communication professionally, demonstrating good phone etiquette at all times.
