It's your time to shine by greeting customers with a friendly attitude & big smile. Keeping organized, answering phones, & directing guests will be the focus of your position. Having an outgoing personality, self confidence, & strong customer service orientation is desired. Looking for smiles that brighten a room! A restaurant host greets arriving guests, manages reservations and waitlists, assigns tables to balance server workloads, and escorts diners to their seats. They serve as the first point of contact, answering phone calls, providing accurate wait times, and helping maintain a clean and welcoming front area. Guest Relations and Service Welcome diners: Greet every guest warmly and make a positive first impression.
Manage seating:
Escort guests to their tables and hand out menus.
Handle waitlists:
Give accurate wait time estimates when the restaurant is full.
Say goodbye:
Thank guests as they leave and ask about their experience. Floor and Operations Management Control reservations: Book tables using phone calls or digital booking software.
Rotate server sections:
Assign incoming parties evenly so no single server gets overwhelmed.
Communicate:
Talk with managers and servers about table statuses and large groups.
Answer inquiries:
Provide information about hours, menu items, and daily specials. Maintenance and Team Support Keep the stand clean: Organize menus, wipe down the host stand, and sweep the entryway.
Assist staff:
Clear or reset tables and run food or drinks during busy rushes.
Handle special requests:
Accommodate high chairs, large groups, or specific seating preferences. Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
