Responsibilities Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring they feel welcomed upon arrival Manage restaurant reservations efficiently Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or specials Maintain accurate waitlists and communicate wait times clearly via phone or in person Handle phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette, including taking takeout orders, taking reservations and answering guest questions Take in-person orders and execute correctly sending them to the kitchen in a timely manner Coordinate with the serving staff to optimize table turnover and seating arrangements Ensure cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, adhering to food safety standards and hospitality best practice Qualifications Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and restaurant table management systems like Toast POS Basic math skills for handling reservations, guest counts, and seating arrangements accurately Exceptional organizational skills to manage waitlists, reservations, and guest flow seamlessly Knowledge of food safety standards and guest relations best practices in a hospitality setting Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
