Job Description

Hebrew SeniorLife, a Harvard Medical School-affiliated nonprofit, seeks Host Staff to create a welcoming, organized dining experience for older adults. In this frontline role, you will greet and seat residents, families, and guests, manage reservations and table assignments, and coordinate closely with nursing and dietary teams to support individual needs. You'll help maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive dining environment that reflects our culture of respect and dignity. Responsibilities Welcome and seat residents, families, and guests in the dining room with warmth and professionalism Manage reservations, wait lists, and table assignments to ensure smooth meal service Coordinate with nursing, dietary, and serving staff to support residents' dietary and mobility needs Maintain a clean, safe, and organized reception and dining area Provide clear, courteous information about menus, meal times, and special events Support residents with wayfinding and escorting as needed Monitor dining room flow and promptly address concerns or service issues Follow safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies in a healthcare setting Assist with setting up and breaking down dining spaces for daily meals and programs Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, mission-driven environment focused on older adults Required Skills Customer service Dining room operations Reservation management Basic computer skills Communication skills Time management Infection control awareness Safety and confidentiality compliance Team collaboration Basic conflict resolution
