Our host team is the first point of contact for every guest who visits us, and it sets the tone for the entire experience. We are currently hiring a part-time Host to cover evening and weekend shifts. We are open Wednesday through Sunday and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The ideal candidate is welcoming, well organized, and able to stay composed and professional during high-volume service. Responsibilities Greet arriving guests and seat them promptly and courteously Answer incoming calls, take reservations, and respond to questions about the menu, hours, and upcoming performances Coordinate seating across sections to maintain an even flow of service for the dining room and kitchen Accurately count, manage, and reconcile a cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift Reset and maintain the entry and dining areas between seatings Communicate wait times and updates to guests clearly and accurately Support the front-of-house team as needed throughout the shift Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Prior restaurant or customer service experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Availability for evening and weekend shifts, Wednesday through Sunday, and select holidays Able to remain standing and moving for the duration of a shift Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct What We Offer $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, based on experience Flexible scheduling that can accommodate school or a second job Consistent year-round hours A supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunity for advancement within the restaurant Duties Greet guests warmly as they arrive and assist with seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow of the dining area. Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using reservation management systems and update waitlists as needed. Answer phone calls politely, handle inquiries about wait times or menu options, and take reservations with professionalism. Maintain an organized waiting list and communicate wait times clearly to guests. Support the front-of-house team by coordinating table assignments and ensuring timely seating. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and lobby area. Provide guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly, ensuring a positive first impression. Requirements Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a food service environment is preferred. Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest interaction. Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms. Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and guest counts accurately. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest needs efficiently. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Familiarity with food safety standards and POS systems is a plus.
