Greeter / Host / Hostess Olive and Oak Restaurant & Bar | Hagerstown, MD Olive and Oak is looking for a friendly, polished, and dependable Greeter/Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, this position plays an important role in creating the warm, welcoming experience we want every guest to have. We are looking for someone who is personable, organized, comfortable with technology, and confident communicating with guests in a busy restaurant environment. Responsibilities Warmly greet and welcome guests as they arrive Manage reservations, walk-ins, and the waitlist using our online reservation system Seat guests efficiently while maintaining proper table rotation Answer incoming phone calls and assist with general guest questions Communicate with servers and management regarding seating and table availability Keep the host stand, entrance, and other guest-facing areas clean and organized Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of common areas and guest restrooms throughout the shift Assist guests with special requests whenever possible Help maintain a smooth flow of service during busy shifts Thank guests as they leave and help ensure a positive final impression Qualifications Friendly, professional, and outgoing personality Excellent communication and customer service skills Dependable and punctual Comfortable using computers, tablets, and online reservation technology Able to learn and confidently navigate our reservation and guest-management system Able to remain organized and composed in a fast-paced environment Willing to assist wherever needed to maintain a clean, welcoming environment for our guests Professional appearance and demeanor Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Availability Night and weekend availability is required. Applicants must be available to work a combination of evening and weekend shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as needed.
