Overview The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a friendly and professional Morning Host to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth dining or check-in experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop guest relations skills within a vibrant hotel environment, supporting our commitment to exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements Manage guest waitlists and provide accurate wait time estimates Handle guest inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station area Coordinate with restaurant staff and front desk team to ensure seamless guest experiences Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for reservations and check-ins Communicate effectively with guests regarding hotel amenities, services, and policies Uphold high standards of phone etiquette and guest relations at all times Requirements Prior host/host experience preferred, especially within food service or hospitality settings Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Experience with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Knowledge of guest services, hotel operations, and serving protocols is desirable Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude required Previous experience in hospitality or hotel environments is advantageous Join our team at The Vanguard Hotel where your hospitality skills will contribute to memorable guest experiences.
