Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant team as a Restaurant Host/Cashier, where your energy and hospitality skills will create memorable experiences for our guests from the moment they walk through the door. Be a part of an Up North icon that has been helping families make memories for over 100 years. Our restaurant is a face paced environment. As Host/Cashier you will welcome guests, manage guest waitlist, and ensure smooth seating arrangements. As a cashier, you'll handle transactions efficiently while providing exceptional customer service. You will also answer questions and assist guests with purchases in our retail shop. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process. Handle restaurant waitlist with accuracy and professionalism, accommodating special requests and ensuring efficient flow of guests. Operate POS systems to process payments swiftly and accurately, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments. Maintain excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, providing menu information, and resolving concerns promptly with positive communication skills. Manage phone communication with professionalism, utilizing proper phone etiquette to take reservations, answer questions, and assist with inquiries. Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness of the host station and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Assist with guest services such as coordinating wait times, managing waiting lists, and providing a welcoming atmosphere that enhances guest satisfaction. Qualifications Previous experience as a host/hostess or cashier in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred. Excellent communication skills - ability to speak clearly, listen to requests and answer questions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods. Experience working with a POS system is a plus. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
