Job Description

Host/Hostess Gathering Roots LLC Dearborn, MI Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16 - $20 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Attention to detail Venue guest services Full Job Description Gathering Roots is a multi-concept restaurant management group focused on creating memorable dining experiences through exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and strong service standards. We're looking for confident, polished, sales-minded Hosts and Hostesses to join our growing team. Our host team plays an important role in the entire guest experience. From the first welcome at the host stand through the introduction at the table, our hosts help set the tone, introduce the experience, drive sales, and control the flow of the dining room. What You'll Do Create the First Impression Every experience begins at the door. Hosts are expected to immediately acknowledge arriving guests, deliver a warm and confident greeting, and make them feel genuinely welcomed. Introduce the Experience at the Table The hospitality doesn't stop once guests are seated. Our hosts provide a second welcome at the table, introduce and explain the menu, and help guests understand what makes the dining experience unique. Sell From the Start Our hosts actively present featured cocktails, mocktails, and appetizers , creating excitement and giving guests a reason to begin ordering before their server arrives. You should be comfortable making recommendations and talking about food and beverages in a natural, engaging way. Control the Flow of the Room Great seating isn't just about finding an open table. Hosts manage reservations, waitlists, table status, and server rotations while controlling the pace of seating throughout service. You'll need to understand what's happening across the entire dining room and make smart decisions that protect both the guest experience and the service team. We're Looking for

Is outgoing, confident, polished, and genuinely welcoming Is comfortable recommending and selling food and beverages Can learn a menu and speak about it confidently Understands that the guest experience begins before they ever meet their server Can manage multiple priorities without becoming flustered Has strong situational awareness and attention to detail Communicates clearly with guests, servers, managers, and fellow hosts Can make smart decisions about seating and dining-room flow Takes pride in creating an exceptional experience rather than simply completing assigned tasks Is dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented Restaurant experience is helpful, but personality, confidence, communication skills, and hospitality instincts matter just as much. Why Gathering Roots? Gathering Roots offers the opportunity to become part of a growing multi-concept restaurant group where hospitality is taken seriously and strong team members have room to grow. If you can own the front door, command a host stand, sell with personality, and make guests feel like their experience has already begun before their server ever reaches the table , we want to meet you.
