We are the only low-barrier shelter in Oakland County. We do not require our guests to have background check, sobriety checks or have an ID to enter our shelter. Everyone at HOPE Shelter is 18 years of age or older. We have 60 beds total of men and woman and sometime exceed that number. Last year we saw around 400 homeless individuals come to HOPE Shelters. We help our guests get their vital documents, mental health service, primary care services and through the housing process. We promote trauma-informed care, safety and respect. Coordinators are responsible for onsite shelter operations, including nightly preparation, coordination of support services for guests. Coordinators will reenforcing shelter schedule, policy, and rules to create a safe environment. Coordinators will work with host volunteers in the kitchen. Coordinators will work with shelter guests to make sure each guest has their basic needs met. Coordinators will work with outside agencies when they visit the shelter to help coordinate services for guests. Coordinators are the front-line staff to our guests with consistent contact. Coordinators will provide guests a positive, safe and welcome environment to come to. Help Serve Dinner Help with Intakes Help Maintain shelter (cleanliness and safety) Help community members at the door with needs Day to Day paperwork Have boundaries/Make boundaries/Protect boundaries Help Host Groups Serving Dinner Maintain shelter grounds and the area around it with assistance from guests and staff.
