Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a friendly and organized Host to welcome guests and ensure they have a positive experience from the moment they arrive. As the first point of contact, you'll set the tone for our guests' visit by providing excellent customer service, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements. The ideal candidate is personable, attentive, and enjoys creating a warm, inviting atmosphere in a lively restaurant setting. This role is essential in helping our team deliver smooth operations and memorable guest experiences. Duties Greet guests warmly as they arrive and assist with check-in procedures using restaurant reservation management systems. Manage waitlists and seating arrangements efficiently to minimize wait times and maximize table turnover. Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant policies while practicing good phone etiquette. Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and smooth flow of service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station, including menus, reservation logs, and waiting area. Support guest relations by addressing special requests or concerns promptly and courteously. Assist with basic food safety practices when handling menus or guest belongings to uphold hygiene standards. Skills Prior experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management. Familiarity with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus. Excellent organizational skills to handle reservations, manage waitlists, and coordinate seating efficiently. Basic math skills for handling reservations, seating calculations, and POS transactions. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices in a food service setting.
